🔗 Share this article The Mighty Nein's Opening Sequence Selected the Incorrect Critical Role Track The Mighty Nein, the newest animated series from Critical Role, revealed a new introductory sequence. It showcases the beloved cast of misfits, outcasts, and criminals kicking ass and making their mark, while also hinting at multiple heart-wrenching backstories for characters including the voice actor's mage Caleb, and Travis Willingham's orc warlock, Fjord. All in all, the opening looks amazing. However, I felt that an element was lost in the music selection. The intro uses "Welcome to Wildemount", a truly stellar song composed by producer and singer Colm McGuinness. This piece originating from the official score of that title, the second one released by the production company's record label their music brand. It's a great sentimental option, and I suspect that fans of the second campaign will love its inclusion. But for me, The series' intro doesn't quite capture the excitement and excitement that accompanied the show's actual-play adventure. "It's Your Turn", composed by singer-songwriter Jason Charles Miller, became an immediate hit for me when it was first revealed in that year, and it only got better when cast member the performer wrote words to the melody for the animated Campaign 2 opening in the later year. Featuring vocals from Ashley Johnson, Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham, as well as Riegel himself, the song was catchy and enjoyable. Back then, I hadn't seen the second campaign yet, but it was so infectious that I still saved it on my device. It's a song that knows how to get you pumped before you start an episode of adventurous fun. The Mighty Nein's opening with "the new song" doesn't strike the same chords in my opinion. It's an impressive composition, but from what I know of this party, I can't help but feel that its tone is a little off. Naturally, Critical Role has already said that the animated show will have some changes and variations from the original live sessions. A tonal change for its intro seems to be one of them. The Mighty Nein will be available to watch on Prime Video from Nov. 19. For those eager before that, or wish to prepare to learn about the personas of the second series, the actual play are available on Spotify and the video site.
