🔗 Share this article The Latest Casual Playlist Ignites Heated Discussions Over Bots, XP Rewards, and Wait Times Over the weekend, the game developers introduced a new game mode titled Relaxed Breakthrough. To put it simply, this option resembles the regular Breakthrough setup but includes several notable changes: Every squad includes only 8 human participants, with the remaining made up of AI-controlled opponents. Actions done by human gamers grant full XP, while bot actions provide reduced XP. Just a pair of locations are available: Siege of Cairo and Empire State. Elements like Dogtags, accolades, and stat tracking have been turned off. In short, this mode delivers on its name: it offers a casual take of Breakthrough. On the surface, one could assume it's a good idea, as it gives additional choices for players seeking alternative methods to enjoy the title. However, gaming history has shown one thing, it's that you can't please everyone. In other words, a lot of Battlefield 6 fans are mad. Player Responses: From Fury to Support "Gamers prefer real players. Avoid making the errors of your rivals," states one reply to the mode reveal. "Truly disappointing concept," says a different user. At the same time, in community forums, one user remarks, "I have no idea where we are going with this title," and another lists all the issues they believe to be problematic in the game: "Fix bugs, address drone issues, correct rocket mechanics, adjust aiming after sprinting, improve hit detection. We don't need this AI-heavy playlist." However, for every complaint, some gamers sharing how much they're liking the new mode. "It's very fun to practice, human participants keep it from being a complete grind but it's quite laid-back," says one Reddit comment. "The community fails to see that there are players who have lives and can't play this title 24/7. Let them strike a balance," adds a different comment. A response on Twitter explains that as they're "a parent gamer with limited time, this is great for me," while someone else praises the mode for "avoiding intense competition." Constructive Concerns and Community Input All that said, players have constructive reasons to complain about Casual Breakthrough. Some users have pointed out that it will make queue times even longer for different playlists because of the large amount of options in the game already. Similarly, certain regions already encounter AI-filled matches in the current modes. Additionally, it appears a little backwards that the mode does not begin without a minimum number of real players, even though it focuses mostly on fighting AI opponents. Finally, a major complaints is that Battlefield Portal was meant to provide full XP, including AI matches, but that got canned when they tried to eliminate bot farms from the mode. Thus this new playlist seems like the community meeting them in the middle, as per a Reddit comment. Another describes this addition as the devs "dropping the ball significantly, I experienced great enjoyment in the first couple of days, what prompted them to change it?" Future Prospects: Adjustments Occur? Should the development team has demonstrated something so far with the latest installment, it's that they're listening and responding to player input. Assignments being too difficult got fixed rapidly, just like the required Redsec challenges. Chances are that, if their data shows this recent mode is underperforming to their expectations, they will not hesitate to change it again.
