Iran Reports Attack on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Widespread Counterattacks.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing offensive against it by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone in the area of the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is not yet known and the US has not commented.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted sites linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the government.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with high efficiency and shot down a several projectiles," it added.

The statement noted wreckage landed in a populated district in the capital, causing some material damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
