One senior CPS official commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.” Scope of the Police Inquiry These allegations come after what police called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital. The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th. List of Charges Prosecutors said the 45 sexual offences comprise: 15 counts of assault. Seventeen counts of assault by penetration. Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13. 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration. One count of attempting to assault by penetration. Authorities have asked individuals with information to contact the relevant police force.
